Commercial License – What You Need to Know

Content on Rozstock that is not marked as editorial may be used in commercial projects. Below is what a commercial license allows, and where the limits are.

What does a commercial license mean?

On Rozstock, content that is not marked as editorial may be used in commercial projects. Commercial use means using content in a project aimed at promoting a product, service, brand, company, or campaign, or at generating revenue.

May be used in advertising and marketing.

You may use the content in online ads, social media campaigns, promotional films, email marketing, product promotions, and corporate communications.

May be used on websites and digital platforms.

Content may be used as part of a design on a company or client website, in blogs, mobile apps, online stores, and digital presentations.

Social media and YouTube use is permitted.

You may use the content in posts, ads, or videos published on Instagram, Facebook, X, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube, and similar platforms.

May be used in printed materials.

Content may be used in posters, brochures, catalogs, flyers, magazines, books, menus, business cards, product packaging, and corporate publications.

May be used in audiovisual projects.

Content may be used as part of commercials, promotional videos, documentaries, films, series, presentations, and other productions.

Content may be edited to suit the project.

Changes such as cropping, resizing, color adjustment, adding text, and combining with design are permitted. Such changes do not transfer copyright in the content to the customer.

Projects may be prepared on behalf of a client.

A designer or agency may use the content in a single final project prepared for their client. However, the content file may not be sold to the client independently or delivered as a stock file they can freely reuse.

Purchase does not mean buying the content itself.

The customer purchases the usage rights permitted under the agreement, not ownership of or copyright in the original file. Copyright in the content remains with the content creator.

Content may not be resold as a standalone file.

Photos, videos, vectors, or other content may not be offered for resale as-is or with minor modifications.

May not be uploaded to other stock platforms.

Content may not be republished, distributed, or licensed on a stock media site, download platform, digital archive, or similar service.

May not be shared in a downloadable or copyable form.

Sharing content in a way that allows third parties to obtain the original or high-resolution file is prohibited. For web use, reasonable measures should be taken to prevent the content from being easily downloaded as a standalone file.

May not be registered as a logo or trademark.

Because the same content may be used in other projects, Rozstock content may not be registered on its own as a logo, brand, service mark, or other distinctive sign.

People in images may not be shown in a misleading way.

A recognizable person may not be shown, without permission, as endorsing a specific product, service, company, political view, or organization.

Careful use is required for sensitive topics.

Content must not create the impression that a person shown is actually connected to a health issue, crime, addiction, sexual life, political view, or similar sensitive matter. If use is representational, it must be clearly understood as fictional.

The scope of model and property releases must be considered.

For commercial use of images containing recognizable people or private property, existing model and property release documents apply. If the content page states that no release document is available, additional permission may be required.

Brand and third-party rights must be assessed separately.

The presence of a brand, logo, artwork, product design, or protected building in an image does not automatically grant the right to use them. Obtaining any required additional permissions is the customer's responsibility.

Unlawful and misleading use is prohibited.

Content may not be used for defamatory, pornographic, discriminatory, hate-related, personality-rights-infringing, or otherwise unlawful purposes.

The license is non-transferable.

The usage right is for the person or organization that purchased the license. The content file may not be transferred or sublicensed to another person or organization for use in their own projects.
